What is a Business Merchant Account?
Without such a facility a Merchant cannot directly accept payments via credit or debit card. In the competitive retail marketplace merchants need to ensure that prospective clients can purchase their goods or services as easily as possible. Allowing users to pay in the manner most convenient to them is one way to make the process as streamlined and straightforward as possible for the customer.

How can I open a Business Merchant Account with Lancore?
Before we can open a Business Merchant Account various details will be required from the Merchant, they include:
- The Merchants website address (URL).
- Details about the Company that own the URL including Directors and Shareholders information.
- Company bank details. This is to allow us to carry out any relevant credit checks.
- URL requirements e.g. shipping policy, confidentiality assurances etc.
- Technical specifications e.g. server technology.
- Any previous payment processing details.
- Customer support policy.
- Details of the product(s) that is sold through the URL.

What happens once I have completed the Lancore merchant application form?
Once Lancore has received your completed application form and all the relevant supporting documentation we will submit the application to one of our acquiring banks for approval.
The bank will usually provide us with an answer stating whether applications have been accepted or declined within a period of 3 – 5 business days.
